Surf and Service Panama Information and Forms
In this itinerary, students venture to Playa Venao on Panama’s Pacific coast. Our students work with the Waved Foundation, a Panamanian NGO that focuses on improving the lives of young children in Panama through academic programs, school infrastructure projects, English lessons, and the sport of surfing. Our service will unfold in two parts. First, our students will plan and host a 3-day sports camp on the beach for students from Pedesi, Panama. Second, our students will participate in a building project to improve the infrastructure of a local school. The build will be supervised by KOR staff, professional contractors, and representatives of the Waved Foundation. Students will stay at Beach Break Surf Camp on the beach in Playa Venao.
While our service work is intensive, there is plenty of room in each day for our students to make the most out of their travel experience. Students have the opportunity to take daily surf lessons. The surf lessons will either occur early in the morning or in the afternoon after we have finished our work for the day. Additionally, our group will spend time on the beach, hike to a nearby waterfall, and have the opportunity to snorkel.
